“In the work ” My Grandfather was a Person Who Never Threw Anything Away” ( 2006 ) Tanja Lažetić found fifteen years of Christmas-card-collections of her grandfather. He collected all the cards he received, one bag for each year. He made a table of the outgoing and incoming mail. He made notes on what he’d written in categories and valued the different ways of wishing a nice Christmas. He registered who wrote back and what they wrote. This work talks about tradition, repetition, and the manic wish to put things in order. It talks about patterning life and the wish to give a sense to this ritual in three categories which also talk about socialistic times.” Julia Schäfer
