ABOUT

Tanja Lažetić is a multidisciplinary artist working with photography, video, ceramic, performance and the artist’s book. She graduated in Architecture from the University of Ljubljana. Tanja Lažetić is based in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Her works are held in museums, galleries and private collections such as the MOMA  Artists’ Books Collection in New York, the Tate Collection of Artists’ Books, the Museum of Modern Art in Ljubljana (participating four times in the Triennial of Contemporary Art U3), the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova in Ljubljana, the International Centre of Graphic Arts in Ljubljana (including once in the Biennial of Graphic Arts), the City Art Gallery Ljubljana, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein in Berlin, Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, Museum Brandhorst in Munchen, The Israeli Center for Digital Art in Israel, Art Gallery of Kosovo in Prishtina, Gallery of Extended Media in Zagreb, Ars Aevi in Sarajevo, Museum 25th May in Belgrade, 28th Biennial of Graphic Arts in Ljubljana, Brighton Photo Biennal, Nanjing Festival in China and Gagosian Gallery in NY, Beverly Hills, and Paris.

She won a variety of awards as is the third prize at the International Ceramic Triennial in Ljubljana (2015), the bronze prize at the Nanjing Festival in China (2015) and Rihard Jakopič Recognition (2017). In the last ten years, Lažetić published more than twenty artist’s books. Her book Whore has been featured in Phaidon’s The Photobook: A History, Volume III.
